부드럽고 편안하며 쉽게 신거나 벗을 수 있는 신발로, 주로 실내에서 신는다.

대부분 복수형('slippers')으로 사용. 집에서 신는 신발로, 실외용이나 슬리퍼(끈있는 것)와 다름.
