「skips」は、軽く跳ねながら進む動作、または何か（授業や手順など）を省略することを意味します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「skips class」は授業をサボる意味。「skips breakfast」は朝食を抜く意味。子どもの動きや、動作・予定を飛ばす場合に使われます。
