Singer वह व्यक्ति होता है जो गाता है, खासकर पेशे के रूप में या लोगों के सामने। यह शब्द पॉप, ओपेरा, बैंड, कॉयर और कई दूसरी शैलियों के गायक या गायिका के लिए इस्तेमाल हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह आमतौर पर countable noun है: 'a singer', 'famous singers'। महिलाओं के लिए भी अंग्रेज़ी में अक्सर सिर्फ 'singer' कहा जाता है, 'female singer' तभी जब लिंग बताना ज़रूरी हो। सामान्य combinations हैं: 'lead singer', 'pop singer', 'backup singer', 'singer-songwriter'। इसे 'songwriter' से न मिलाएँ; 'songwriter' गीत लिखता है, पर ज़रूरी नहीं कि वह गाता भी हो।
