Definition

ショットガンは、一度に多数の小さい弾を発射する長い銃で、主に狩猟やスポーツ射撃に使われます。また、車の助手席に座ることを表すこともあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

複数形なので複数の銃を指します。「ダブルバレル」「ポンプアクション」「リロード」と組み合わせて使われます。「call shotgun」は助手席を取る時によく使います。ライフルとは別物です。
