周囲の変化（光、熱、動き、圧力など）を検知し、別のシステムに情報を送る装置や部品。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

技術、科学、日常の文脈で使われる—「motion sensor（動作センサー）」「temperature sensor（温度センサー）」「sensor network（センサーネットワーク）」など。人には使わず、機器や装置を指す。‘censor’（検閲者）と混同しないこと。通常は可算名詞。
