上院議員は、上院（特に国の議会）の選挙で選ばれた、または任命された議員で、法律を作り州や地域、国民の代表を務めます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にアメリカなど上院のある国で使われ、『代表』や『議員』とは異なります。名前の前に『Senator Smith』のように使うことがよくあります。
