科学とは、観察や実験、証拠に基づいて自然界を探求することです。また、生物学や化学、物理などの学校の科目も指します。

通常は不可算名詞で使われます。一般的な分野として話すときは「science」、特定の分野の場合や比較する場合は「a science」となります。よく使う表現：「scienceクラス」「science実験」「scienceミュージアム」「scientific evidence」など。
