サンダルは、主にストラップ付きの足を涼しく保つためのオープンな靴で、暖かい季節によく履かれます。

「サンダル」は日本語でも通常複数形で使います。カジュアルや夏、海辺で履くことが多く、フォーマルには向きません。「ビーチサンダル（ビーチサン）」はサンダルの一種で、室内用の「スリッパ」とは異なります。
