'नियम' वे औपचारिक निर्देश होते हैं जो बताते हैं कि किसी खेल, संगठन या स्थिति में क्या करना चाहिए या नहीं करना चाहिए। ये व्यवहार को मार्गदर्शित करते हैं और व्यवस्था बनाए रखते हैं।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'Rules' का प्रायः बहुवचन में उपयोग होता है, खासकर खेलों व संगठनों में ('house rules', 'school rules')। 'Regulations' ज्यादा औपचारिक/कानूनी है। इसे 'laws' (कानून) से न मिलाएँ। आम संयोजन: 'follow/break the rules', 'set the rules', 'rules and regulations'।

कक्षा में तुम्हें **नियम** का पालन करना चाहिए।

These are the rules of the game.

ये खेल के **नियम** हैं।

My parents have strict rules at home.
