Definition

একটি জনতার দ্বারা প্রকাশ্য স্থানে সংঘটিত সহিংস গোলযোগ ও দাঙ্গা, যা সাধারণত রাজনৈতিক অথবা সামাজিক উত্তেজনার ফলে ঘটে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Riot' সাধারণত বিশেষ্য হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তবে ক্রিয়া হিসেবেও থাকতে পারে ('to riot')। এটি সবসময় দলগত সহিংস আচরণের নির্দেশ দেয়, শুধু চেঁচামেচি নয়। সাধারণ বাক্যাংশ: 'race riots', 'food riots', 'break out into riots'। 'Protests' থেকে অনেক বেশি গুরুতর।
