فعل كبح النفس أو السيطرة عليها، خاصة في إظهار المشاعر أو الأفعال. أيضاً جهاز مادي أو إجراء يحد من الحركة، أو قاعدة تحد من الحرية.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

ثلاثة معانٍ رئيسية: (1) ضبط النفس ('show restraint')، (2) جهاز مادي ('safety restraint' = حزام الأمان)، (3) قيد قانوني ('trade restraints'). 'Without restraint' تعني بحرية. 'Exercise restraint' طريقة رسمية لقول 'كبح النفس'.
