Actuar o hablar en nombre de alguien, o ser una señal o símbolo de algo. También puede significar mostrar o describir algo de una manera determinada.

Patrones comunes: 'represent a country/company/client', 'represent a problem/change' y 'be represented as'. En inglés legal y de negocios, a menudo significa actuar oficialmente en nombre de alguien. No lo confundas con 'present': 'represent' suele significar actuar por alguien, simbolizar o retratar, no simplemente mostrar.
