Definition

出来事や言葉、感情などに何らかの反応を示すこと。感情的な反応や、物質同士がふれあって変化する場合にも使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

多くの場合「to」をつけて「react to news」のように使います。「respond」はより冷静・意図的な返答、「react」はすぐや感情的な反応に使われがちです。科学では「〜が〜と反応する」にも使われます。
