手すりは、階段やバルコニー、橋などの端に安全や支えのために設置される金属や木製の柵のことです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

階段や橋の端などの柵に使います。「手すりを持つ（hold the railing）」のように使われ、壁やフェンスには使いません。階段の場合は「バニスター」とも呼ばれることがあります。
