Definition

'Quarry' वह स्थान है जहाँ से पत्थर या अन्य सामग्री ज़मीन से निकाली जाती है। इसका अर्थ शिकार या पीछा किए जा रहे व्यक्ति या जानवर से भी हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अंग्रेज़ी में 'quarry' स्थान के लिए तकनीकी या निर्माण क्षेत्र में प्रयोग होता है। 'Prey' अर्थ में यह अधिक औपचारिक या साहित्यिक है। इसे 'query' (प्रश्न) से न मिलाएँ। आम संयोजन: 'stone quarry', 'hunted his quarry'।
