يُستخدم 'protect' للأمان الجسدي، العاطفي، الرقمي أو القانوني. غالبًا مع 'from/against' مثل 'protect from rain'، وكصفة 'protective'. لا تخلط بينها وبين 'prevent' (يمنع) أو 'guard' (يحرس فعلياً).
