যারা অপরাধের কারণে জেলে আটক থাকে, তাদের 'বন্দী' বা 'কয়েদি' বলা হয়। সাধারণভাবে, এমন কাউকে বোঝাতে পারে যে কোনো কারণে আটক বা মুক্ত নয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Prisoners' সাধারণত বিচার শেষে জেলে থাকা মানুষ; 'prisoner of war' বা 'নিজের ভয়ের বন্দী'র মতো বাক্যেও ব্যবহৃত হয়। কথ্য ভাষায় 'inmate' আইনে বেশি প্রচলিত।
