Usage Notes (Japanese)

「praise someone for something」は「～のことで褒める」、「high praise」は非常に高く評価すること。'compliment'より強い肯定的な意味がある。宗教的には神への賞賛の意味も持つ。動詞は進行形ではあまり使われない。
