Population का मतलब किसी खास जगह, जैसे शहर या देश, में रहने वाले लोगों की कुल संख्या होता है। यह किसी क्षेत्र में लोगों या जानवरों के किसी पूरे समूह के लिए भी इस्तेमाल हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

यह शब्द सबसे ज़्यादा लोगों के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है: 'the population of Brazil'। वैज्ञानिक संदर्भ में यह जानवरों के लिए भी आ सकता है, जैसे 'the wolf population'। आम जोड़ हैं: 'population growth', 'population density' और 'aging population'। इसे 'people' से न मिलाएँ, क्योंकि 'people' ज़्यादा सामान्य है और कम सांख्यिकीय लगता है।
