Definition

কোনো একটি জায়গায় বসবাসকারী মানুষের সংখ্যা বোঝায়। কখনও কখনও এটি কোনো নির্দিষ্ট প্রাণী বা জনগোষ্ঠীকেও নির্দেশ করতে পারে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'জনসংখ্যা' সাধারণত মানুষের জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়: 'the population of Brazil'. বৈজ্ঞানিকভাবে প্রাণীদের ক্ষেত্রেও ব্যবহার হয়: 'the wolf population'. প্রচলিত শব্দসমূহ: 'population growth', 'population density', 'aging population'. এটি 'people' শব্দের চেয়ে বেশি পরিমাপমূলক ও পরিসংখ্যানভিত্তিক।
