池は、湖よりも小さく、静かな水がたまっている場所です。公園や庭、田舎などによく見られ、魚や水草がいることもあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「池」は小さく静かな水面に使います。「garden pond（庭の池）」「fish pond（魚がいる池）」「duck pond（カモがいる池）」のように使います。「湖」より小さく、「プール」とは異なり、より自然な印象です。
