ポリグラフは心拍数や発汗など体の反応を測定・記録し、人が本当のことを話しているかどうかを調べる機械です。

主に警察や法律関係で使われる用語です。「嘘発見器」とも呼ばれますが、証拠として必ずしも認められるわけではありません。「ポリグラフ検査を受ける」という言い方が一般的です。
