Definition

国王や女王などの支配者が住む、非常に大きくて豪華な建物。または、豪華な公式邸宅や宮殿のような建物も指します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は王室や公式な人の住居を指し、ただの大きな家には使いません。「王宮」「宮殿の門」などの言い方があります。豪華な家を冗談で「宮殿」と呼ぶこともあります。
