'diğer' ve 'başka' genellikle belirleyici veya zamir olarak kullanılır; 'the other one' veya 'some other time' gibi ifadelerde sıkça geçer. 'another'dan farklıdır.
Examples
They decided to try a different restaurant instead of their other usual choice.

I have two shirts; one is red, and the other is blue.
