यह किसी ऐसी चीज़ को बताता है जो किसी दूसरी चीज़ से पूरी तरह अलग हो, या उसके सामने दूसरी तरफ हो। वाक्य के अनुसार यह विशेषण, संज्ञा या पूर्वसर्ग के रूप में आ सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

इसके सामान्य प्रयोग 'the opposite of', 'opposite sides' और 'sit opposite me' हैं। इसे 'different' से न मिलाएँ: 'opposite' आमतौर पर सीधा विरोध या उलट अर्थ देता है, सिर्फ अलग होना नहीं।
