何かや誰かに反対して行動すること。強く反対したり、何かが起きるのを阻止しようとすること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

“Oppose”はフォーマルで、議論や政治、立場を取る状況でよく使われます（例: oppose a law）。“Object”とは異なり（小さなことに反対）、また“fight”（物理的対立）より弱い表現です。
