Tumbuhan kecil berwarna hijau dan lembut yang tumbuh rapat di area lembap, sering menutupi batu, tanah, atau pohon seperti karpet.

Kebanyakan digunakan sebagai kata benda tak terhitung (‘some moss’). Sering muncul dalam deskripsi alam, dan berbeda dengan ‘mold’ (jamur).
