Definition

चाँद वह बड़ा गोल खगोलीय पिंड है जो पृथ्वी के चारों ओर घूमता है और रात में सूरज की रोशनी को परावर्तित करके चमकता है। यह शब्द किसी ग्रह के प्राकृतिक उपग्रह के लिए भी इस्तेमाल हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

आमतौर पर 'the moon' से पृथ्वी का चाँद समझा जाता है, इसलिए इसके साथ अक्सर 'the' आता है। वैज्ञानिक संदर्भ में 'moon' किसी भी प्राकृतिक उपग्रह के लिए भी इस्तेमाल हो सकता है। सामान्य संयोजन हैं 'full moon', 'half moon' और 'moonlight'।
