무엇인가를 만들 때 사용하는 물질이나 재료. 천(옷감), 또는 학습이나 토론에 쓰이는 정보나 내용을 의미할 수 있다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

‘raw material’, ‘building material’, ‘reading material’, ‘course material’과 같이 다양한 분야에서 쓸 수 있다. 천(옷감) 의미로는 ‘천’, ‘옷감’ 모두 사용한다. ‘materialistic’(물질주의적)과 혼동하지 않는다.
