Definition

表面や動物、物にある見える線や模様、マークなど。そのものを識別したり、使い方を示したりするために使う。道路の白線や動物の柄、商品の刻印などによく使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

成績や点数の意味には使わず、物理的な線や模様のみに使います。『road markings』『zebra markings』『distinctive markings』のような形で登場。単数形「mark」と使い方が異なります。
