किसी चीज़ के सबसे ज़्यादा या सबसे महत्वपूर्ण रूप से होने को दिखाने के लिए प्रयोग होता है।

'Mainly' मुख्य बात या कारण को उजागर करता है, पर अन्य कारणों की भी गुंजाइश देता है। यह अक्सर adjective से पहले या verb के बाद आता है। 'Mostly' के साथ भ्रम हो सकता है, लेकिन 'mainly' थोड़ा औपचारिक लगता है।
