'a loss of confidence', 'weight loss', 'financial loss', 'suffer a loss'와 같은 표현에 자주 쓰임. 'loss'는 명사, 'lose'는 동사이므로 혼동하지 말 것. 감정적으로는 사망을 의미하기도 함.
