“lo” in Spanish

Palabra antigua del inglés que se usa para llamar la atención sobre algo, parecida a “mira” o “he aquí”. Hoy aparece sobre todo en literatura, textos religiosos y expresiones fijas como “lo and behold”.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Es muy rara en el inglés cotidiano actual. Normalmente basta con reconocerla, no hace falta usarla activamente. La forma más común hoy es la expresión “lo and behold”, que suena juguetona, dramática o un poco anticuada.
Examples
Lo, the sun rises over the hill.
**¡Mira!**, el sol sale sobre la colina.
It sounds funny if you say lo in normal conversation today.
Suena gracioso si dices **lo** en una conversación normal hoy en día.
And lo, there was a bright star in the sky.
