ラマはチベット仏教で教師や僧侶、尊敬される指導者に与えられる称号です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'ラマ'はチベット仏教の指導者に使う語で、インドの'グル'に似ています。特に有名なのはダライ・ラマです。動物の'リャマ'と混同しないようにしましょう。特定の称号の場合は大文字（Dalai Lama）で書きます。
