'jump' के रूप में यह अक्सर continuous tenses ('is jumping') या gerund ('Jumping is fun') में आता है। आम संयोजन हैं 'jumping rope', 'jumping up and down', और 'jumping over a fence'। इसे 'leaping' से न मिलाएँ; वह अक्सर अधिक लंबी या नाटकीय छलांग का भाव देता है।
