新聞や雑誌、ラジオ、テレビのためにニュースや記事を集めたり、書いたり、報道したりする職業の人たちです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

フォーマル・日常どちらでも使われます。「investigative journalists」「sports journalists」など複合的な使い方も多いです。「reporters」（主にニュース発表）や「writers」（必ずしも報道に従事していない）とは異なります。
