Definition

何かの作業や会話の途中で、一時的に止まったり中断したりすること。人や物によって起こることがある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

フォーマルまたは中立な表現。「constant interruption（絶え間ない中断）」や「unexpected interruption（予期せぬ中断）」などで使う。会話にも電気など物事にも使える。『disruption』とは違い、大きな混乱を意味しない。
