本物のように見えるが実際は偽物や錯覚であるもの。特に、心をだます誤った考えや、見かけだけのイメージ。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'錯覚'は視覚的なトリック（optical illusions）や、現実的でない考え・期待にも使う。よりフォーマルで、単なる「トリック」より広い意味がある。
