銃は弾を発射する武器で、防衛や狩猟、軍事目的で使われます。

「銃」は武器に関する会話で正式・非正式どちらでも使います。ショットガンやハンドガンなど、種類で言い分けます。「fire a gun」は「銃を撃つ」となります。「加速する」の意味とは混同しないでください。
