أن تقول مرحبًا أو تظهر اللطف لشخص عند رؤيته أو مقابلته. غالبًا ما يُستخدم لجعل شخص يشعر بالترحيب.

"Greeted" رسمي أو محايد وغالباً ما يُستخدم مع "guests" (ضيوف)، "visitors" (زوار)، أو "strangers" (غرباء). يشير إلى فعل التحية وليس الكلمات المستخدمة بالضبط. تعبير شائع: "greeted with a smile". لا تخلطها مع "meet" (يلتقي).
