औपचारिक/सैन्य शब्द है, प्रायः ऐतिहासिक या रक्षा संबंधी संदर्भों में प्रयोग होता है। 'Garrison' सैनिकों व उनकी छावनी दोनों के लिए इस्तेमाल हो सकता है। 'To garrison' मतलब सैनिकों को किसी जगह तैनात करना।
