修道士（カトリック）

Definition

修道士とは、カトリック教会などの宗教団体に属し、祈りや人々への奉仕に専念しながら、社会の中で質素な生活を送る男性です。

‘修道士’は一般にカトリック系で使われ、‘僧侶’や‘神父’とは異なります。修道僧と違い、社会の中で活動します。多くの場合、フランシスコ会やドミニコ会のメンバーを指します。
