Una carretera ancha diseñada para tráfico rápido, generalmente con varios carriles y sin intersecciones ni semáforos. Se utiliza para conectar ciudades o diferentes partes de una ciudad grande.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
'Freeway' es americana; en inglés británico se dice 'motorway'. Solo se refiere a vías grandes de alta velocidad. Frases comunes: 'en la autopista', 'entrada/salida de la autopista', 'atasco en la autopista'.
