建物や家の正面玄関を入ってすぐの広い空間やホールで、来客を迎える場所です。劇場やホテルなどによく使われます。

「ロビー」はホテルや劇場など格式ある建物で使われやすい表現です。普通の家では「玄関」や「玄関ホール」などが一般的です。
