Definition

ভবন বা গঠনের নিচে থাকা শক্ত মাটি বা কাঠামো। এছাড়া, কোনো কিছুর মূল ধারণা বা ভিত্তি, অথবা কোনো বিশেষ উদ্দেশ্যে গঠিত দাতা প্রতিষ্ঠানও বোঝায়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'ভিত্তি'কেবলমাত্র ভবনের জন্য নয়, 'ভরসার ভিত্তি', 'জ্ঞানভিত্তি'র মতো বিমূর্ত অর্থেও ব্যবহৃত হয়। প্রতিষ্ঠান বোঝাতে আলাদাভাবে 'ফাউন্ডেশন' শব্দটি প্রচলিত।
