पेड़ों और अन्य पौधों से ढका हुआ बहुत बड़ा क्षेत्र forest कहलाता है। यह एक प्राकृतिक स्थान होता है जहाँ कई जानवर और पौधे रहते हैं।

'Forest' रोज़मर्रा में इस्तेमाल होने वाला सामान्य शब्द है। 'Woods' अक्सर छोटे जंगल या पेड़ों वाले क्षेत्र के लिए आता है, जबकि 'jungle' आमतौर पर घने उष्णकटिबंधीय इलाके के लिए कहा जाता है। आम संयोजन हैं: 'rain forest', 'forest fire', 'forest path' और 'forest ranger'.
