うそや冗談、だましで本当だと思い込まされてしまった状態を指します。何かにだまされた時に使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「be fooled by」「you fooled me」「fooled into ～」の形でよく使われます。冗談にも本当のだましにも使われます。'tricked'に近い意味ですが、'fooled around'は異なる意味です。
