Definition

水のように、一定方向に途切れず滑らかに動くこと。また、その動きや自然でスムーズなつながりも指す。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に液体に使われますが、交通、電気、会話、音楽、仕事などがスムーズに進む場合にも使います。「flow」は“cash flow”や“traffic flow”などの名詞句でもよく使われます。

Water flows down the hill after it rains.

雨が降った後、水が丘を下って**流れます**。

Traffic flow is slow this morning.

Her words flowed easily during the speech.
