Definition

टॉर्च एक छोटी, हाथ में पकड़ी जाने वाली इलेक्ट्रिक लाइट है। इसका उपयोग अंधेरे या जहाँ और कोई रोशनी न हो, वहाँ रोशनी के लिए किया जाता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अमेरिकी अंग्रेजी में ‘flashlight’ और ब्रिटिश अंग्रेजी में ‘torch’ कहते हैं। आमतौर पर आपात स्थितियों, बिजली गुल होने, या बाहर घूमने (camping) में प्रयोग होती है। वाक्यांश: ‘turn on a flashlight’, ‘use a flashlight’.
