何かの最後や締めくくりを表し、シリーズや出来事の最終段階を指します。また、試験や競技などで一番最後のものも意味します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「final answer」「final exam」「final decision」などのように名詞の前でよく使います。「最終」は変更不可の意味も含むことがあります。名詞で「the final」は決勝戦を指します。
